My Favorite Quote

"Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun". - Ecclesiastes 2:11

This Bible verse is my favorite quote because it is very honest.  It serves as a great reminder that worldly things have no meaning at all.  So many people chase after things like money or success in life, and there's no substance in that.  If you're searching for those things, there will always be a hole meant to be filled by something more.

I can relate this to my life because I try to fill my life with lasting things, not just things that seem good in the moment.  This verse serves as a daily reminder to keep God first in my life, no matter what may seem more important.

Blog #4

Dear Future Self..

I am writing you this to tell you that you should make smart decisions, no matter what.  Don't think about what's in the moment, think about the big picture. When making a decisions, ask yourself: Is this right based on my past experiences and future goals? Hopefully, you have already accomplished the goals I have right now, and that you are happy with every part of your life.

To accomplish my goals,  I will strive to make the best grades I can in school.  I will not worry about what other people want me to do, and I won't get distracted.

So far...

The first few weeks of college have been pretty great! I love living in a dorm with my roommate. It's definitely different than having my own room and a huge bed, but it feels like a sleepover every night!

My roommate was a friend from home. We went to different high schools but it was definitely comforting knowing exactly what to expect.

As for my classes, I am liking everything so far. My classes are all in the morning, so I have the afternoon to study, work out, and hang out with my friends, which I love.  I thought I would need help managing my time, but so far i'm doing pretty well!

The Postmortal

I found The Postmartal to be surprisingly interesting.  Although it was required reading, it was different than the usual books I was forced to read during high school.

I think my favorite part about the book was the futuristic vibe created by "the cure".  It's fun to read books that are set in the future, because no one actually knows what will happen. I also liked the format of the book; the technoligical  style made it even more new age-ish, which was also interesting to me.
